Kingston and the Islands 2016 Policy Resolutions

Political parties should reflect the values of their members.  Those values come to the fore during the policy debates at national conventions.  We in Kingston and the Islands have traditionally been strong contributors to those debates.

Like all federal Liberal ridings associations, we are eligible to submit resolutions into the Liberal Party of Canada policy process leading to the May 2016 Biennial Convention in Winnipeg. The first step in that process was to solicit policy ideas from our members and supporters who joined our Policy Committee.  At the Committee’s next meeting on February 17th, those draft resolutions will be finalized and voted on to choose those with will be sent to our Executive Committee for submission into the Party process.

Current draft resolutions include the following:

Aging in the Community

Appointments to Boards and Commissions

Barriers for Foreign Caregivers

Basic Income Guarantee

Environmental Bill of Rights

Supervised Injection Sites
